At the Township Office
RTA Senior Citizen Reduced Fare Permit
Illinois seniors age 65 and older can ride RTA-affiliated public transit at a reduced fare. The Township processes your application at no charge.
- Who qualifies: Residents age 65 or older (up to 3 weeks before your 65th birthday).
- What to bring: One proof of age: Driver’s License, State ID, Medicare card, Passport, or Alien Registration Card.
- How it works: Stop by the Supervisor’s Office. We take your photo and send everything to the RTA. Your permit arrives by mail within four weeks.
- Office hours: Mon–Fri, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 3510 Bay Road, Crystal Lake.
Illinois Benefit Access Program
The Illinois Department on Aging Benefit Access Program offers eligible seniors: free transit rides and reduced-cost license plate renewal.
To qualify: Age 65+ (or 16+ with disability), live in Illinois, and income below $27,610 (1-person), $36,635 (2-person), or $45,657 (3-person household).

Voter Registration
Register to vote in person at the Township office, Mon–Fri during office hours. No appointment needed. Registration closes 28 days before each election.
Notary Public
Available at the Assessor’s Office (815) 459-6140 and Road District (815) 459-4410. Call ahead. Not available at the Supervisor’s Office.
Social Programs
Pinochle Club — Every Thursday
Join your neighbors for a weekly card game. New players always welcome!

- Where: Nunda Township Town Hall, 3510 Bay Road, Crystal Lake (moves to Supervisor’s Office at 3420 Bay Road during early voting periods)
